The craft is a tool of artistic expression, meant to an end, without which photography or any other art does not exist whatsoever. As an artist, I put a lot of effort into this part of my career to give my clients a masterpiece, not only photography.
As my art craft, I have chosen recording reality on black and white photographic materials (films and papers), which save the moment in three-dimensional silver crystals (haloids), so much different than flat pixels. In this process, I use an old handmade wooden large format camera. As an old-school photographer, I put my head under the black cover. Then is only me and an object, displayed on the focusing screen of my camera. I am taking only one photo, carefully composed and well-knit with care about details. One Shoot! The perfect One! Masterpiece.
Later in the darkroom, using the XIX century technique, I am bringing photography to its life...
Why all these complications when we have an instant way to take pics and share them with the world only in a few seconds?
The technique I use is the only fully proven way to keep pictures for at least the next 180 years in archival quality. We can take millions of photos, but not all of them are worth turning into a historical testimony of our days, given to the next generations.

The world change so fast that usually, the only memories of people and documentation of yesteryear is photography.

How would we build history if we would not have old photographs and family albums? Digital photography is an easy and fast way to catch the moment, but not a reliable method to preserve memories for the next generations.

I bring to being portraits and family photos by using 4x5' films and photographic papers compounded with silver crystals (halides), which can preserve images for at least 180 years. It is the only fully proven method to keep the history of archival quality.

Portraits and Family 

Meeting together on special occasions is a natural manifestation of our social nature as a species. The character of these meetings varies among different types of relationships and can never go over again under the same circumstances. A beautiful group photo, taken on film, with a wooden camera in the traditional technique of handmade development, will surely be a unique memento of those moments and keep our memories fresh. In addition, it is a great hook, which can make the event unforgettable.

Pictures included in the Follow the Sun! are my way of gratitude and praise for the world. They compose documentation of my mental journey where essential is not a destination but embracing every moment. As a result, we can see the infinite goodness occuring in our hearts and elating us.

ENJOY the RIDE! It was the project which I created in cooperation with skateboarders from my home city Stettin, Poland. One year I followed and photographed them and their favorite spots in urban space. I tried to create documentation of the unremarked group and find new meaning in historical places in my city in the context of skateboarding.

Photos, which I took with a large-format camera on a 4x5 inch black and white film, are an attempt to preserve a small piece of skateboard life seen through the eyes of a fascinated spectator. It is also a sincere wish for the future.

The series is a diploma created at the University of Arts in Poznań.

In 2011 in the Basque country, I saw for the first time in my life The Ocean. Until now, I can not find words that can give voice to the feelings that appeared in my heart at that moment. I just fell in love with the Ocean and made a wish to stay always close to it. Every single moment is the materialization of the unpredictable and volatile Force. It is never the same. Not many can win through fear and become a part of it like Surfers. I can only stay on the side and admire it.

Photos were taken by Pentacon Six on 6x6 Ilford film and a large-format camera on 4x6' film, developed by myself.

The exhibition took place in my hometown Stettin, Poland, in the legendary Brama Jazz Cafe in 2011.

There are always two people in every picture: the photographer and the viewer.

Photography is in a period of development where means and methods sometimes hold unbalanced dominance over creative effort.

There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs.

I really believe there are things nobody would see if I didn’t photograph them.

The Artist, no matter how visionary, was expected to be a craftsman, and his products were required to pass the test of acceptable workmanship. Only then could he aspire to be acknowledged as a creative genius, and even as such he was still il miglior fabbro.

I didn’t choose photography, photography chose me.

I love the people I photograph. I mean, they’re my friends. I’ve never met most of them or I don’t know them at all, yet through my images, I live with them.

There's no talent here, this is hard work. This is an obsession. Talent doesn't exist. We all are equals as human beings. You could be anyone if you put in the time. You will reach the top, and that's that. I'm not talented, I am obsessed.

There are no bad pictures; that’s just how your face looks sometimes.

What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.

All photographs are accurate. None of them is the truth.

Photography for me is not looking, it’s feeling. If you can’t feel what you’re looking at, then you’re never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures.

I like to photograph anyone before they know what their best angles are.

Composition is the strongest way of seeing.

Look and think before opening the shutter. The heart and mind are the true lenses of the camera

To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them

A good photograph is knowing where to stand.

For photographic composition, I think in terms of creating configurations out of chaos, rather than following any conventional rules of composition.
